📜 History of Akluj Fort
The history of Akluj Fort is very ancient.
It is believed that the fort was built during the 13th century in the Yadava period. This fort is a Bhui-kot type fort.
Over time, the fort came under the rule of Bahmani, Adilshahi, Mughal, and Maratha empires.
During the Mughal period, the fort was named “Asadnagar.”
Historical records mention this fort as a place of imprisonment of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
Between 1975 and 1978, the fort was renovated by Shrimant Jaysingh Mohite Patil, under the guidance of Shrimant Shankarrao Mohite Patil.
In 2006, Shivsrushti was established here.
